Infant abducted from Surprise home recovered by police near Winslow

Law enforcement launched an emergency search Friday after an 11-day-old infant was snatched from a home in Surprise, Arizona. Lieutenant Tim Klarkowski identified the kidnapper as the baby's father, who did not have custodial authority. A coordinated effort by Navajo County Sheriff’s deputies and Arizona State Troopers established a barrier across major northern routes, leading to the suspect's vehicle being located near Winslow on Saturday morning.
Officers halted the car, safely retrieving the child without injury. The baby was transported to a medical facility as a precaution and is awaiting reunification with his mother. The Navajo County Sheriff’s Office thanked Arizona DPS for assistance, while investigators continue to finalize charges.
