Zach Lahn, the Republican candidate for Iowa governor, has built a campaign narrative centered on humble, farm-rooted values, yet recent disclosures reveal ownership of a lavish six-bedroom home in Wichita, Kansas, complete with a pool and private pond, and the sale of a $5 million Montana ski residence. Flight-tracking data suggests he spends roughly 20 percent of his time on his Iowa farm, relying on a private jet for most travel.

His personal life attracted attention after he remarried Annie shortly after his divorce, and she had previously been married to Chase Koch, son of billionaire Charles Koch. Additional records show Lahn was a Kansas voter from 2018 to 2024 and has a background as a political operative for Montana Senator Steve Daines, former Colorado Senator Cory Gardner, and the Koch-backed group Americans for Prosperity. These findings raise questions about his residency eligibility and the authenticity of his “homespun” image.
