Ireland's Boatyard Distillery Launches Double Gin in the US as First Certified B Corp

Boatyard Distillery, Ireland’s first certified B Corp spirits producer, is introducing its Double Gin to American markets, emphasizing juniper-forward flavor and sustainable practices.

Boatyard Distillery, based in Northern Ireland, has unveiled its Double Gin for distribution across the United States, positioning the product as a juniper-centric alternative to the “New World” trend. The gin, distilled at 92 proof, combines wheat with eight botanicals sourced from the distillery’s own farm by Lough Erne, and is macerated for 18 hours before a juniper-heavy vapor chamber finish. Founder and master distiller Joe McGirr says the resulting spirit offers a piney nose, earthy zest and a subtle licorice-like creaminess that works well in both Negroni and Gin & Tonic formats.

The brand recently achieved Ireland’s first B Corp certification for a distillery, reflecting its carbon-neutral facility, reliance on local organic farms, by-product up-cycling and plastic-free shipping. To spearhead U.S. expansion, Boatyard appointed Tim Herlihy, formerly of William Grant & Sons, as national sales and advocacy lead. The move aims to place $40 bottles on store shelves and cocktail menus nationwide.
