On Saturday, the Israeli diplomatic mission in Washington held a ceremony to honor the second yahrzeit of six individuals who were murdered by Hamas militants in a tunnel in Rafah, southern Gaza, in August 2024. The deceased are Master Sgt. Ori Danino, Carmel Gat, Hersh Goldberg-Polin, Alexander Lobanov, Almog Sarusi and Eden Yerushalmi. The embassy posted that, alongside Shabbat candles, they lit memorial candles, invoking the hope that the victims' light endures.
