Jake Paul and Eddie Hearn forge unexpected alliance to boost women's boxing

YouTuber-turned-fighter Jake Paul and promoter Eddie Hearn announced a long-term partnership between MVP and Matchroom Boxing aimed at expanding the global profile of women's boxing.

In a surprise development, Jake Paul and Eddie Hearn disclosed that their respective promotional outfits, Most Valuable Promotions (MVP) and Matchroom Boxing, will enter a long-term strategic alliance focused on women's boxing. MVP, founded by Paul and Nakisa Bidarian in 2021, has built a reputation for championing female fighters, while Matchroom, the British promotion run by Hearn, has long been a dominant force in the sport.

The joint statement emphasized that the partnership will merge MVP’s women-boxing expertise with Matchroom’s global promotional capabilities to generate new championship bouts, broaden audiences, and increase commercial backing. The agreement follows years of competition between the two firms, highlighted by a three-fight series between MVP’s Amanda Serrano and Matchroom’s Katie Taylor, all won by Taylor, and a recent bout in Miami where Anthony Joshua stopped Paul. Both promoters described the alliance as a logical step toward creating a premier destination for elite female boxers.

Why it matters

The deal could reshape the market for women's boxing by uniting two major promoters and increasing exposure and investment.
