Jake T. Austin Expresses Disappointment Over Exclusion from Wizards Revival
Jake T. Austin revealed on Instagram that he was left out of the Wizards Beyond Waverly Place sequel, despite having agreed to return.
After the three-season run of Wizards Beyond Waverly Place concluded, Jake T. Austin posted on Instagram that he was omitted from the series despite having been asked in 2020 and stating he was "100% in." He said the decision to move the show in another direction meant his character was excluded. Austin expressed gratitude toward his former colleagues and the audience, noting the show's success owed much to fan support.
Selena Gomez and David Henrie, who played his on-screen siblings, acted as executive producers, with Gomez making guest appearances and Henrie starring throughout. The Russo parents, portrayed by David DeLuise and Maria Canals-Barrera, returned for guest spots. A Disney Channel representative did not immediately reply to inquiries.
