Former Google chief scientist Jeff Dean posted the slide deck for his new AI venture Discovery Loop, highlighting a record of high-profile projects and collaborators.
Jeff Dean, departing after 27 years at Google, revealed the pitch materials for Discovery Loop, an AI startup aimed at accelerating scientific research. The slides enumerate the team’s involvement in flagship Google offerings like Search, Ads, Gmail, the Gemini model series and custom TPU chips. Dean said the initial financing will be led by Khosla Ventures and Radical Ventures, alongside participation from Alphabet and other investors.
Additional slides name former collaborators now heading companies such as Anthropic, OpenAI and Perplexity, and display the founders’ high citation counts on Google Scholar. The deck was posted on X and quickly drew comments calling it a legendary showcase of talent. Internal Google forums also circulated memes celebrating Dean’s departure.
