Jimmie Maxson III Impresses at UND Fall Camp with New Jersey and Confidence

Jimmie Maxson III, a second-year wide receiver from the Chicago suburbs, entered UND's fall camp with a new jersey number, 14, and a refreshed mindset. On the third day at Memorial Field, he secured back-to-back first-down catches that signaled his push toward a regular rotation. Offensive coordinator Danny Freund highlighted Maxson's improved confidence and cleaner catches relative to last spring, noting his size and athleticism as assets.

Maxson, who logged a single reception as a true freshman, previously excelled at Brother Rice High School with 87 catches, 1,749 yards and 27 touchdowns, earning offensive MVP honors as a senior. He emphasized his willingness to block and support teammates, while the return of quarterbacks Jerry Kaminski and Javance Tupou'ata-Johnson, along with fellow receivers Deng Deng, Korey Tai, Kristen Hoskins, and Sam Strandell, offers a familiar passing environment for his growth.
