Kabaddi star's wife found dead in Rohtak home, police probe suicide
Muskan Balhara, spouse of international kabaddi player Sheelu Balhara, was discovered dead in her Rohtak village home, with authorities treating the case as a suicide.
On Friday night, Muskan Balhara was found deceased at her home in the village of Bahu Akbarpur, Rohtak district, in what officials describe as a suicide. Rohtak Superintendent of Police Gaurav Rajpurohit confirmed that investigators are interviewing family members and have also questioned her husband, international kabaddi player Sheelu Balhara. The couple, who married in December 2023, share a nine-month-old son; Muskan hailed from Farmana village in Meham.
Relatives gathered outside the residence to protest, alleging that Muskan faced harassment. A forensic team examined the scene and gathered evidence, after which Muskan’s body was transferred to PGIMS-Rohtak for further handling. Sheelu, originally trained in judo and wrestling before switching to kabaddi at six, is known for his role as a catcher and has competed for Indian and overseas teams.
