Kairos secures $2.5 million to launch unified prediction-market trading terminal

Kairos, a new prediction-market platform, raised $2.5 million in a round led by a16z crypto to build a fast, integrated trading terminal.

Jay Malavia and Zayd Alzein, who became interested in prediction markets during the 2024 presidential election, launched Kairos to address the industry’s scattered listings. The startup announced a $2.5 million financing round led by a16z crypto, joined by Geneva Trading, the University of Illinois and other angel investors. Kairos offers a specialized terminal that aggregates trades from Kalshi and Polymarket, delivering real-time news alerts and a speed advantage of two to three seconds over the native platforms.

Having previously worked at Cboe Global Markets, the co-founders applied traditional-finance trading technology to the emerging prediction-market space. A private beta is slated for the coming weeks, after which the duo plans to expand the team. While initially targeting sophisticated traders in finance and crypto, Kairos hopes to eventually attract everyday participants.
