This location contrasts sharply with Harris’s career-long focus on dismantling housing discrimination and her earlier comments emphasizing the importance of living among Black Americans. A 2025 commentary by two non-White surfers described the area as having informal barriers that deter BIPOC beachgoers. Harris’s purchase arrives amid renewed media attention about her background and potential 2028 presidential bid, though her spokesperson declined comment.
