A party spokesperson confirmed that the two will also return to the parliamentary caucus, meaning they can again sit as Labour representatives. Abbott, the longest-serving female MP, was suspended in 2025 over an antisemitism dispute. Reid had been sitting as an independent since March following a self-imposed suspension linked to her husband’s alleged espionage for China.
