Lake Mary dominates early rounds of 2026 Little League Softball World Series
Lake Mary's girls softball team posted two shutout victories, 14-0 over Washington and 15-0 over Italy, in the opening games of the 2026 Little League Softball World Series.
Lake Mary's Little League softball team opened the 2026 World Series with a 14-0 victory over Snohomish, Washington, and then improved the margin to 15-0 against Bologna, Italy, scoring in all seven innings thanks to the run rule. These wins placed the Florida team in the Purple bracket, giving them a short break before facing Clayton, North Carolina, a side that previously defeated Canada 16-4 and edged Texas 2-1. The competition follows a double-elimination structure, with elimination games scheduled over the next two days in Greenville, North Carolina. Lake Mary can still reach the Purple bracket final this weekend, and the overall championship game is set for Sunday, August 9, at 3 p.m. ET on one outlet, with all earlier games broadcast on one outlet and ESPN2 and streamed via Fubo.
Why it matters
The team's early dominance positions Florida for a rare national softball title, drawing regional attention to youth sports.
