Las Cruces boxing star Ariana Carrasco returns to the ring on Aug. 7 in El Paso

Las Cruces native Ariana Carrasco, recognized as one of New Mexico's most accomplished amateur boxers, is slated to face British fighter Chanisse Jenner on Aug. 7 at the El Paso County Coliseum. The bout, broadcast on DAZN, marks Carrasco's second professional appearance after a March victory that concluded when her opponent, Tennielle Young, left the ring before the start. In preparation, Carrasco has sparred with WBA lightweight champion Stephanie Han and emphasizes using her extensive amateur experience to control the fight.
