LDS Church donates hundreds of wheelchairs and mobility aids in El Salvador
Members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints partnered with the Teletón Pro-Rehabilitation Association to distribute 228 wheelchairs and 340 mobility devices in San Salvador on July 14.
In a joint effort, volunteers from the LDS Church worked with the Teletón Pro-Rehabilitation Association to provide mobility assistance to people with disabilities. The giveaway took place in San Salvador, El Salvador, on July 14 and included a mix of adult and pediatric wheelchairs as well as walkers and canes. The total shipment comprised 228 wheelchairs of various types and 340 additional support devices.
Why it matters
Providing mobility equipment helps disabled people gain independence and improves quality of life in underserved communities.
