Leh Apex leaders set one-month deadline for government on protest cases and compensation

The two leaders of the Leh Apex Body warned that failure to meet their demands within a month would trigger a new movement in Ladakh. They said roughly 80 demonstrators remain under criminal prosecution from last year’s Sixth Schedule and statehood protests. The officials also called for financial redress for the relatives of four demonstrators who died during police firing and for medical relief for those wounded. While noting some progress, they stressed that core demands remain unresolved in the strategically sensitive region.
