Flights at Leipzig/Halle Airport were interrupted overnight when a flying object was reported and another item was discovered near a runway, prompting diversions and a runway shutdown.
Airport authorities received a sighting of an airborne object shortly before midnight, leading to the redirection of several aircraft, including a passenger flight. Police later located a second suspicious object close to the south runway and deployed a bomb-disposal robot to examine it. While the main runway reopened before 2 a.m., the south runway stayed closed into the morning.
