Leipzig says no deal reached yet for Yan Diomandé's move to Real Madrid
RB Leipzig sporting director Marcel Schäfer told Sky Sport Germany that a transfer for Ivorian forward Yan Diomandé to Real Madrid has not been finalized.
Leipzig’s sporting director Marcel Schäfer confirmed to Sky Sport Germany that the club has not yet concluded a transfer for Yan Diomandé with Real Madrid. The Ivorian striker, who resumed training after a World Cup holiday, stayed out of the German squad’s Austrian camp, citing a medical reason and continuing solo sessions to protect a potential move. Consequently, he has not trained under head coach Martín Demichelis.
Adding to the uncertainty, Maxidel Management, owned by former player Max Gradel, has lodged a complaint with FIFA against Roc Nation, the agency Diomandé now works with, over alleged commission disputes. Schäfer noted Roc Nation remains Leipzig’s point of contact at the player’s request, while Real Madrid officials were reportedly unaware of the legal clash.
Why it matters
The clarification affects expectations around a high-profile transfer and highlights ongoing legal disputes that could delay the move.
