Luka Doncic funds Lakers' Slovenia minicamp, rookie Cameron Carr stays behind

Los Angeles Lakers guard Luka Doncic has arranged a four-day minicamp in Slovenia, covering airfare for 16 of the 17 players on the current roster. The itinerary includes training sessions, informal basketball games, golf outings and tours of Ljubljana, the capital city, intended to strengthen team chemistry after a roster overhaul. Rookie forward Cameron Carr, selected 24th overall in the 2026 NBA Draft, will not travel because his required NBA rookie orientation overlaps with the camp dates.

Carr impressed in Summer League and is projected to have a meaningful role, but will need to connect with teammates once they return to Los Angeles.
