Luxury $15.65 M Flatiron Building Penthouse Sells to First Private Owner
A three-bedroom, three-bath condo on the 18th floor of the Flatiron Building has been sold for $15.65 million, becoming the landmark’s first privately owned unit.
An 18th-floor penthouse in Manhattan’s historic Flatiron Building has changed hands for $15.65 million, marking the first private ownership of a unit in the iconic structure. The three-bedroom, three-bath residence spans 3,020 sq ft, features arched windows, a wedge-shaped great room, marble-topped kitchen and lofty ceilings, and offers skyline and river views. Listed at $15.5 million in September, the price was raised before the sale, which the Olshan Luxury Market Report flagged as the week’s top contract, though the buyer and exact purchase amount have not been disclosed.
The Flatiron, built in 1902 and recently converted to condominiums by a consortium that includes GFP Real Estate, Sorgente Group, ABS Real Estate Partners and the Brodsky Organization, already has contracts on at least 15 units, including a $58.5 million five-bedroom full-floor home. Renovations restored the terra-cotta façade, replaced over 1,000 windows by hand, and added amenities such as a 60-foot lap pool, sauna, billiards room and 24-hour concierge. Sales are being marketed by Corcoran Sunshine, with move-ins expected this fall.
Why it matters
The sale shows strong demand for ultra-luxury historic condos in Manhattan and signals progress in the Flatiron’s high-end conversion.
