Magenta Edge Picks Up Sabrina Greco's Dark Comedy 'Lockjaw' for Theatrical and VOD Release

Bob Yari's Magenta Light Studios subsidiary, Magenta Edge Films, has acquired Sabrina Greco's dark comedy "Lockjaw," which will open in theaters on August 8 before moving to VOD on September 8.

Magenta Edge Films, the newly created indie arm of Bob Yari's Magenta Light Studios, announced it will distribute Sabrina Greco's dark comedy "Lockjaw," which debuted at Slamdance last year. The story centers on Rayna, played by Blu Hunt, who navigates a chaotic night with her jaw wired shut after a drunk-driving accident, confronting strained friendships and new adversaries. The cast also features Colin Burgess, Kevin Grossman, Nick Corirossi, Ally Davis, Sally Sum and Lena Redford.

Bill Vergos, overseeing digital distribution, said the film's sharp humor and confident debut stood out, aligning with Magenta Edge's mission to champion emerging filmmakers. Greco, who wrote and directed the 11-day micro-budget project, expressed excitement about the partnership expanding the film's audience. The movie is slated for a limited theatrical release on August 8, with a VOD and digital rollout scheduled for September 8.

The distribution agreement was negotiated by Vergos and C.J. Vranca, with Visit Films' Ryan Kampe representing the creators.
