Major networks skip coverage of Fauci's diary exposing his fame obsession

Rand Paul released a collection of Dr. Anthony Fauci’s diary entries that chronicle his daily activities and thoughts during the height of the COVID-19 crisis, including his awareness of newfound celebrity status and uneasy relations with the Trump White House. Despite the diaries trending on social media, major broadcast networks—several outlets and MS NOW—did not reference the material in any of their weekend or Monday morning shows, according to a transcript analysis by Grabien Media.

Programs such as "World News Tonight," "Good Morning America," "one outlet Nightly News," and "Meet the Press" all omitted the story, and cable news anchors did not mention Fauci by name. One outlet political analyst Brit Hume highlighted the silence, suggesting possible bias due to close ties between the media and Fauci. The diaries also contain personal remarks about journalists like Jake Tapper, Dana Bash and Wolf Blitzer, as well as a profane response to a critic from The Atlantic. Networks have declined to comment, and insiders note the busy news cycle may have contributed to the oversight before Fauci’s scheduled Senate hearing.
