Man accused of covertly filming vacation renters found dead in Oakhurst home
Christian Parmalee Edwards, 44, was discovered deceased at his Oakhurst rental property, weeks after being charged with secretly recording guests and possessing child sexual abuse material.
Deputies from the Madera County Sheriff’s Department found 44-year-old Christian Parmalee Edwards dead inside his Oakhurst vacation-rental home after a neighbor called for help. The cause of death has not been released, and officials say no foul play is suspected. Edwards had been arrested earlier this year on accusations that he covertly filmed guests, including children, at the property and possessed over 4,000 files of child sexual abuse material uncovered during a March search warrant executed with the Central California Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.
The raid also revealed a realistic child doll with bound hands and newly purchased children’s clothing. After posting $75,000 bail in April, he faced a single felony count for possession of the illegal material. The sheriff’s office says the investigation into his death remains ongoing. No further details have been provided at this time.
