Man accused of destroying dozens of cars before fleeing police in Perth
A 45-year-old man was charged after allegedly smashing at least 20 vehicles and then leading police on a high-speed chase through Perth’s northern suburbs.
Around midday, a 45-year-old driver in a Toyota Camry is alleged to have embarked on a 90-minute spree, crashing through multiple Perth suburbs and striking at least 20 stationary vehicles with a metal pole. Several occupants were inside the targeted cars, but authorities report no injuries. The suspect allegedly ignored commands, driving at high speed, sometimes on the wrong side of the road, before finally stopping on Lilburne Road in Duncraig where he was arrested. The individual, a resident of Gosnells, is scheduled to appear in court and has been charged with criminal damage, being armed in a way that may cause fear, and reckless driving to escape pursuit.
