Man Fatally Shot in Multiple Gunfire During Early Morning Brooklyn Pier Dispute
A 30-year-old man was killed by a barrage of bullets during an argument at Canarsie Pier in Brooklyn early Sunday.
Police say John Garvin, 30, was struck multiple times in the head and torso after a confrontation escalated near the Belt and Rockaway Parkways at the pier. He was taken to One-Brooklyn Health-Brookdale Hospital Medical Center, where he died. Detectives arrived shortly after to gather evidence, but no arrests have been made and the NYPD is searching for four suspects. Garvin’s family gathered at the scene in grief hours after the shooting.
