Man found dead after video call confession; police search for missing wife
A 41-year-old man in Karnataka was discovered dead after telling relatives on a video call that he had harmed his wife, who remains missing.
In Hassan district, Karnataka, the corpse of 41-year-old Raghu was found in Kesagodu village following a video call in which he told family members that he had murdered his 38-year-old wife, Gagana, and intended to dispose of her body in the Yagachi canal. Shortly after the call, Raghu died by suicide at the same spot. The couple, together for 13 years, operated a bakery in Chikkamagaluru and have two sons, aged 12 and 6.
Police have filed a missing-person report for Gagana at Basavanahalli police station and are conducting a search around the canal. Hassan superintendent of police Shubhanwitha confirmed that a suicide case has been registered and an investigation is underway to determine the motive.
