Manhattan therapist arrested for raping transgender teen during kink session

A 47-year-old therapist in Manhattan was charged with raping a 17-year-old transgender patient during a session at his Midtown office.

Remington Yhap, a 47-year-old therapist who markets himself as an expert in LGBTQ+ mental health and alternative sexual practices, is accused of raping a 17-year-old transgender client during a June 15 session at Liberation Psychotherapy’s Midtown office. The victim had been in Yhap’s care from September 2025 through July 2026, during which the therapist allegedly showed explicit photographs and repeatedly asked about the teen’s past sexual activity.

A police source said there is a strong possibility that other patients were also targeted. Yhap was taken into custody last week and faces three rape charges and one count of endangering a child’s welfare. Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg’s office urged any survivors to contact its Intimate Partner and Sexual Violence Bureau, while Judge Juliet Howard set bail at $75,000 cash and a $150,000 bond.
