Mantis Biotech launches AI tool Parva to track women's cognitive changes
Mantis Biotech unveiled Parva, an AI-driven software that monitors typing and mouse behavior to detect personal cognitive shifts, and secured $7.4 million in seed funding.
Mantis Biotech, founded by Georgia Witchel, released Parva, a consumer-focused AI platform that silently captures typing speed, mouse dynamics and other interaction metrics to build a personal cognitive baseline. By comparing each day's data to the user's own history rather than to population averages, the tool seeks to spot early signs of disorders that often go undetected in women, such as long COVID, perimenopausal syndrome and dementia.
The company announced a $7.4 million seed round headed by Decibel, with additional backing from Y Combinator and Liquid 2. Parva is being deployed through specialty clinics handling ADHD, executive-function issues, depression, burnout and neurodivergence, and it stores data in a HIPAA-compliant vault. While the software does not yet provide a formal diagnosis, it flags risk levels and aims for future FDA approval and insurance reimbursement. Early users like Robyn Schlicher report that continuous, unobtrusive monitoring offers a valuable record for conversations with healthcare providers.
