Marc Summers says E! docuseries confirms and expands on Bob Barker allegations

Marc Summers, former host of Double Dare, told a podcast that the new E! series on The Price Is Right accurately portrays Bob Barker’s misconduct and adds further details.

On a special episode marking Double Dare’s four-decade milestone, former Nickelodeon host Marc Summers spoke about the recent E! documentary that examines alleged harassment and discrimination on The Price Is Right. Summers asserted that the series’ allegations against Bob Barker are accurate and contain extra stories, noting Barker’s continued ego after his wife Dorothy Jo’s death. He shared a backstage prank where Bob Eubanks hid Barker’s “World’s Greatest MC” sign, causing a humorous search.

Summers also recounted a 1990s incident in which Barker requested 25 quiz questions, received 50 from him, and compensated him with a modest check. The documentary revisits Holly Hallstrom’s claim that she was dismissed after refusing to support Barker during Dian Parkinson’s 1994 lawsuit, and it mentions a later settlement between Barker, one outlet, and Hallstrom. Longtime producer Roger Dobkowitz called the series a hit piece, while other insiders defended Barker’s legacy.
