Mark Zuckerberg expands his ultra-luxury estate portfolio with new Lake Tahoe compound

Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg has added a sprawling Lake Tahoe estate to his growing collection of high-value properties across the United States.

Meta founder Mark Zuckerberg has continued his habit of acquiring large, secluded residences, most recently securing two neighboring Lake Tahoe properties that together cover roughly 10 acres. Purchased for $22 million and $37 million in December 2018, the sites are being razed to make way for a seven-building luxury enclave anchored by a 20,000-square-foot, 35-foot-tall main house. His real-estate portfolio already spans a $43 million, 1.83-acre walled garden in Palo Alto, a 700-plus-acre Hawaiian ranch featuring two 57,000-square-foot mansions and a 5,000-square-foot underground shelter, a 15,400-square-foot mansion in Washington, D.C., and a $170 million, 28,000-square-foot waterfront compound on Miami’s Indian Creek Island.

The acquisitions, reported by several outlets. While he downplays rumors about the Hawaiian bunker, calling it a “little shelter,” the new Tahoe development underscores his ongoing investment in high-value, low-profile real estate across the country.
