Melbourne man extradited to Perth on child sexual assault charges linked to online gaming

A 31-year-old Melbourne resident was taken into custody in Perth after being charged with multiple sexual offences against a teenage girl he met through social media and a gaming platform.

Authorities say Gumarn Yenpensook Coldicott, 31, engaged with a minor from Western Australia’s Kimberley region via social media and an online gaming service before flying to Perth in September 2025. He is now charged with indecent dealing, producing an indecent recording and three offences of sexual penetration involving a child between 13 and 15 years old. Detectives acted on a report made by the girl in January, securing a search warrant that was executed at Coldicott’s Point Cook residence by WA Police, the Victoria Police Sexual Crimes Investigation Team and the Australian Border Force.

Following his arrest, he was extradited to Western Australia, appeared briefly before the Perth Magistrates Court and declined bail, merely nodding to confirm his understanding of the allegations. WA Police Commissioner Col Blanch described the case as “very serious,” emphasizing the danger posed by interactions on gaming and social media platforms and urging parents to monitor their children’s online activity.
