Meta unveils Muse Code, an AI assistant for handling large software repositories

Meta launched Muse Code, a beta AI coding assistant aimed at developers working with large repositories. The agent, installable with one command, uses the previously released Muse Spark model and creates separate sub-agents to tackle big jobs in parallel, keeping the original worktree untouched. During testing, the system generated six game features at the same time without any collisions.

Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg highlighted the tool's ability to plan changes, write code, and validate outcomes. AI chief Alexandr Wang said the offering could be a highly competitive and affordable option compared with OpenAI's Codex and Anthropic's Claude Code. The release follows Meta's broader push into enterprise AI, expanding beyond its advertising-focused applications.
