Mets prospect Billy Amick belts fifth homer in seven games for Double-A win

After joining the Mets organization at the July 31 trade deadline, infielder Billy Amick continued his surge in Double-A baseball, hitting his fifth home run in seven games during a 4-3 victory over the Hartford Yard Goats. His three-run shot in the sixth inning turned a 1-1 deadlock into a 4-1 lead, and he now boasts 13 RBIs and 28 career Double-A homers for the season. The 23-year-old, a former second-round pick of the Twins who played college ball at Clemson and Tennessee, was honored with two Gatorade showers after the game.

Amick described the week as enjoyable, noting that the team’s offense clicked and resulted in six wins. The Rumble Ponies have won seven straight games and will pause on Monday before beginning a six-game series with Portland.
