Michigan native Brad Chandler takes the helm as Wright State athletic director

Born and raised in Novi, Michigan, Brad Chandler spent his youth excelling in basketball, baseball, football and other sports before attending Michigan State University and the University of Toledo College of Law. His career in collegiate athletics began with a compliance graduate assistant role at Toledo and later included positions at Ohio State, Arizona State and a deputy athletic director role at Bradley. Chandler started as Wright State's athletic director on July 20 after a June 26 introduction.

Early actions include launching a search for a jersey-patch sponsorship, a new revenue stream now allowed by the NCAA, and meeting extensively with donors and other stakeholders. He praised the university's successful baseball and volleyball teams and lauded men's basketball coach Clint Sargent, noting the coach's importance to the program's appeal.
