Microsoft unveiled a Domain Exclusion option for its 365 Copilot AI, allowing admins to prevent up to 1,000 web domains from being used as sources for the assistant’s web-grounded answers. The feature was intended to help enterprises enforce compliance and avoid unreliable information by uploading a CSV list through PowerShell. However, an update released this week announced that the capability has been withdrawn, with the company stating it understands the importance of the tool but is still assessing future actions.
No specific reason for the rollback was provided. The removal means customers currently lack a method to block undesirable sites from influencing Copilot, prompting calls for an allow-list approach instead.
