Missing camper found dead near Big Bear Lake after search
Brian Schofield, 47, who vanished while staying at Yellow Post Campsite in Fawnskin, was discovered deceased by the San Bernardino Sheriff’s Department near his campsite.
The Riverside resident was last seen by his fiancée at around 11:30 p.m. on Sunday before they went to sleep at the campsite on Delamar Mountain Road. Authorities issued a public alert on Monday after he was reported missing. Search teams later located his body close to Big Bear Lake, about seven miles from the city of Big Bear Lake. Preliminary findings indicated no evidence of foul play, and officials have not released further details about the circumstances.
