MLS launches probe after alleged antisemitic slurs aimed at Revolution forward in Montreal

Major League Soccer announced an investigation into alleged antisemitic and discriminatory chants directed at New England Revolution forward Dor Turgeman during Saturday’s game at Montreal’s Saputo Stadium. The Revolution identified Turgeman, an Israeli, as the victim and publicly denounced the abuse, noting they reported the incident to MLS. A video clip showed the player scoring, followed by a heated exchange between the visiting squad and the home supporters, including an object being thrown onto the field.

CF Montreal issued a statement rejecting any form of hateful behavior and said it is working with the league to ascertain the facts. The fan club 1642MTL also condemned the alleged remarks. MLS reiterated its commitment to an inclusive environment, citing its fan code of conduct, which can impose sanctions up to a six-month stadium ban for violations.
