Mountain lion lounging on sidewalk forces road closure in San Dimas

A puma resting under a tree on Foothill Avenue caused officials to shut down the street in San Dimas on Friday.

Early Friday morning, a mountain lion was spotted lying on a sidewalk between San Dimas Avenue and San Dimas Canyon Road. The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s San Dimas Station posted a warning, urging locals to avoid the area and keep pets and outdoor food secured. Wildlife officers from the California Department of Fish and Wildlife responded to the scene to capture the animal. The road remained closed while the animal was being located.
