MUJI to launch its second Brooklyn store in Downtown Brooklyn's Alloy Block
Japanese retailer MUJI will open a 10,000-sq-ft shop at 100 Flatbush Avenue, marking its second location in Brooklyn and adding to the growing Downtown Brooklyn corridor.
MUJI announced plans to open a 10,000-square-foot store at 100 Flatbush Avenue, its second Brooklyn location after the Williamsburg shop. The venue is situated within Alloy Development’s five-building block that spans Flatbush Avenue, Third Avenue and State Street in Downtown Brooklyn. Alongside MUJI, the Alloy Block will feature Winner, a café-bakery led by Michelin-star chef Daniel Eddy, and CardVault, a retail concept associated with Tom Brady.
The project includes a residential-retail tower at 505 State Street and another tower under construction at One Third Avenue, ultimately providing over 1,000 apartments, 60,000 square feet of office space, 30,000 square feet of retail and two public schools. Muji USA president Richard Rappaport said the area’s continued growth, diversity and energy make it an ideal spot for the brand’s expansion.
