Netflix Announces theatrical and streaming dates for Danny Boyle's tabloid drama "Ink"

Netflix confirmed that Danny Boyle's latest acquisition, the drama "Ink," will launch in select cinemas on Dec. 11 and become available for streaming on Jan. 8 in the United States and Latin America. The film, which dramatizes the rise of Rupert Murdoch's tabloid empire, features Guy Pearce as Murdoch and Jack O’Connell as editor Larry Lamb. It will open the Venice Film Festival as the opening-night selection and will also be shown at the Toronto International Film Festival.

Produced by Studiocanal, Media Res and House Productions, the movie adapts James Graham's Tony-nominated play, which previously ran in London, the West End and on Broadway. International theatrical releases start on Jan. 6 in France and Belgium, followed by other territories in early January, with later dates in Italy and Germany. Netflix's schedule places the film squarely within the awards-season calendar.
