A 20-year-old woman from Lexington, North Carolina, posted a Facebook image stating the house would become a murder scene just a day before she allegedly stabbed her father, Michael Allen, to death. Authorities discovered the father’s body with numerous knife wounds after Maleigha Allen showed up at a family friend’s porch, bloodied and injured, and confessed to the killing. She was taken to a local hospital for stab injuries to her stomach, neck, heart area, and legs, then released four days later when a grand jury found insufficient evidence.
A later indictment reinstated first-degree murder charges, and she now remains detained without bond pending a plea. The case is complicated by prior allegations of abuse; Michael Allen had faced incest and child-rape charges in 2019 that were later dropped. Maleigha’s defense attorney maintains her innocence, citing the father’s abusive history. The Davidson County Sheriff’s Office has not commented further.
