North DeSoto and Northwood Tied as Favorites for 2026 District 1-4A Championship
A coaches poll projects North DeSoto and Northwood as the top contenders for the 2026 District 1-4A football title.
In the newly released District 1-4A coaches poll, North DeSoto, led by coach Dennis Dunn, is favored to capture the 2026 title, with Northwood a close second thanks to its seven senior offensive linemen, five of whom have logged more than 100 starts. North DeSoto’s former quarterback Luke Delafield moved on to Northwestern, while freshman Mason Smith steps in, already courted by LSU and Tulane, and tight end Miller Warren has committed to Northwestern State.
The poll also outlines other district races, noting Sterlington and Loyola in 1-3A, Calvary Baptist in 1-2A, and Mansfield in 4-2A. Additional teams such as Minden, BTW, Southwood, Bossier, and Woodlawn are highlighted for their own talent pools. The rankings reflect the depth of high school football talent across the region as the 2026 season looms.
