Northampton's Henry Pollock aims for seven-figure deal to remain with Saints

Agent Eddie Hearn says 21-year-old back-row Henry Pollock is seeking a contract worth around £1 million a year to stay at Northampton Saints.

Henry Pollock, the 21-year-old back-row who signed a three-year contract with Northampton Saints in December 2024, is reportedly demanding a new deal worth about £1 million per season, according to his representative Eddie Hearn. The current agreement, valued at roughly £150,000 a year, has seen Pollock earn an England cap, tour with the British and Irish Lions and help the Saints reach a Champions Cup final and win the Premiership.

Hearn contends that Pollock’s on-field charisma and commercial appeal justify the figure, but the club’s salary cap of £6.4 million, with only one marquee slot already filled by Fin Smith, restricts options. Recent failed talks with captain George Furbank highlight the cap’s impact on retaining talent. While most Premiership clubs operate below the cap ceiling, wealthier owners such as the Austrian-backed Newcastle Red Bulls and market-focused Bristol may have the resources to accommodate a seven-figure salary. Pollock also expressed a desire to stay in England to keep his international eligibility and to target Great Britain’s Sevens squad for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics.
