NYFF Announces 64th Main Slate Featuring Gray, DuVernay, Gilroy and More
The 64th New York Film Festival revealed its main slate of 32 titles, opening with James Gray’s “Paper Tiger” and closing with Ava DuVernay’s documentary “14th.”
The New York Film Festival’s 64th edition will showcase 32 films on its principal program, announced by Film at Lincoln Center. Opening night will feature James Gray’s crime drama “Paper Tiger,” set in Queens and starring Adam Driver and Miles Teller. Tony Gilroy’s “Behemoth!” with Pedro Pascal as a cellist will headline the gala, while Ava DuVernay’s documentary “14th,” examining a contested constitutional amendment, will close the event.
The slate also includes world premieres of Takashi Yamazaki’s “Godzilla Minus Zero” and a diverse lineup of veteran filmmakers such as Pedro Almodóvar, Ryusuke Hamaguchi, and Chris Rock. Artistic director Dennis Lim noted the program’s reflection of current global realities. The festival runs from September 25 through October 12.
