Ohio suspect leaps onto moving SUV in desperate attempt to flee police
A man suspected of shoplifting in Ohio jumped onto a woman's SUV traveling on I-75 and tried to seize the vehicle before being apprehended.
Miami Township officers detained two men they suspected of shoplifting at a nearby Kroger, prompting one suspect to bolt toward Interstate 75. As a woman drove her SUV down the highway, the fleeing suspect ran across the on-ramp, climbed onto the vehicle’s hood, and shattered the windshield while attempting to commandeer the car. The driver escaped injury, though her vehicle sustained damage.
The suspect eventually lost his grip, fell to the ground, and was seized by Miamisburg police, who transported him to a medical facility. He has been charged with aggravated robbery, theft and obstructing official business, and his partner faces a charge of complicity to theft.
