Pakistan breaks three-year overseas drought with eight-wicket win over West Indies
Pakistan clinched an eight-wicket victory in the second Test at Port of Spain, ending a three-year spell without an away win.
Pakistan avoided a series loss by beating West Indies by eight wickets in the second Test at the Queen's Park Oval in Port of Spain. After bowing out the hosts for 117 in the fourth innings, the Pakistani side chased a target of 75, finishing at 77 for 2 with captain Babar Azam and Abdullah Shafique each unbeaten on 24. Off-spinner Sajid Khan and left-arm spinner Ali Usman shared eight wickets, taking 4/32 and 4/39 respectively.
The win ended Pakistan's eight-match away Test losing streak and marked their first overseas victory since July 2023, also moving them to eighth in the World Test Championship standings. West Indies, missing opener Brandon King due to a back injury, fell short, leaving the series tied at one win apiece.
