Para sprint champions file complaints against IOA media official over alleged misconduct

India's T47 100m gold and silver medallists, along with their coach, have lodged formal complaints against IOA media committee member Sarvesh Kedia for rude conduct toward para athletes at the Commonwealth Games.

Following their historic 1-2 finish in the men's T47 100m at the Commonwealth Games, gold medallist Dilip Mahadu Gavit and silver medallist Mohammed Basil Morssinganathi filed complaints with both the sports ministry and the Indian Olympic Association. Their para athletics coach, Pushpa NP, and PCI chief executive Rahul Swami also submitted complaints naming Sarvesh Kedia, an IOA media committee member who served as a press attaché for the Indian contingent.

The grievances claim Kedia spoke loudly to the medalists and coaches, and later engaged in a heated argument with chief para athletics coach Satyanarayana over media access before mandatory drug testing, which escalated into a brief physical altercation. The incident left several para athletes and officials upset, prompting calls for Kedia to be excluded from future para athletics media duties and for appropriate disciplinary action. Authorities have been asked to investigate and address the alleged disrespectful behaviour.
