Pennsylvania man charged with over 5,000 offenses in alleged teen rape case

According to court documents, 37-year-old Nicholas Allen Spencer from Clearfield County sent inappropriate messages to a girl at age 12 and later engaged in sexual activity with her almost every day for several years. The victim reported the abuse after a friend encouraged her to contact police, though her exact age at that time was not disclosed. Investigators confronted Spencer about recent explicit texts, which he claimed to not recall despite being sent only hours earlier.

Prosecutors have filed 5,538 charges, including just under 4,000 felonies such as rape by forcible compulsion, rape by threat, statutory sexual assault, and dozens of child-pornography counts. Deputy district attorney Tami Fees emphasized that each charge reflects a specific alleged incident and that the goal is to hold Spencer accountable for every count, aiming for a life sentence. While some charges may be dismissed before trial, the sheer volume underscores the seriousness of the case.
