Pentagon launches online shop to speed delivery of counter-drone gear
The Pentagon’s counter-drone task force, together with Kaizen Laboratories, unveiled an online marketplace that lets military, federal and law-enforcement users browse and purchase vetted anti-drone systems.
A partnership between the Pentagon’s counter-drone task force and Kaizen Laboratories has created the Counter-Unmanned Aircraft Systems Marketplace, an e-commerce-style portal for vetted anti-drone technologies. Funded by a $15 million award from Joint Interagency Task Force-401, the site lets authorized military, federal and police personnel filter solutions by requirements, compare specs, and place orders directly. Kaizen CEO Nikhil Reddy warned that outdated software layers are slowing deployment of life-saving gear.
The marketplace’s launch follows a surge in cheap Iranian Shahed drones and the heavy use of drones in Ukraine, which exposed the limits of costly missile-based defenses. Brig. Gen. Matt Ross and Army Maj. Mike Hapner highlighted the need for rapid, global sharing of counter-UAS capabilities, and early vendors such as Anduril and AeroVironment have already listed products.
