Philadelphia police hunt 26-year-old suspect in teen bedroom assault

Philadelphia investigators have identified Lee Johnson, 26, as the suspect in a June 4 home invasion in the Kensington neighborhood. The man allegedly entered the house on the 2200 block of East Somerset Street at about 6 a.m., sexually assaulted an 18-year-old girl who was asleep, and tried to muffle her cries by covering her mouth. The teenager managed to resist, causing Johnson to abandon the attack and flee through the rear entrance, where the victim’s mother observed him running up the steps.

Police say he also took several personal belongings before leaving the scene. Johnson is described as a tall, slender Black male in his 20s, last spotted near the 6100 block of Algon Avenue in Crescentville wearing a black hooded sweatshirt with white lettering, a red shirt and black pants. He faces charges of aggravated indecent assault, burglary, unlawful restraint and related offenses. Authorities urge anyone with information to contact the Philadelphia Police Department’s Special Victims Unit or submit anonymous tips.
